
Dain Dainja, born on July 16, 2002, is a basketball center for the Memphis Tigers, as of March 2025. Prior to the Memphis Tigers, Dainja played for the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Baylor Bears. He had a remarkable season with Illinois as a sophomore as he was Illinois’ No. 4 scorer and No. 2 rebounder, averaging 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. In 2023-24 as a junior, Dainja was one of the six Illini to play in all 37 games this season. He ranked sixth on the team in both scoring with 6.3 ppg and 3.7 rebounds per game. Dainja transferred to the Memphis Tigers for the 2024-25 season. As of March 2025, Dainja has recorded a career-high 13,7 ppg, 7.0 rpg, and 1.7 apg in 31 games for the Tigers (via ESPN).
Dain Dainja was a four-star, top-100 recruit in the Class of 2020, ranked No. 52 by ESPN and No. 91 by 247Sports in high school. In the 2020-21 season, he sat the entire season as a redshirt with Baylor, and as a freshman, he played just three games of the season before electing to transfer to Illinois during the semester break.
