DaRon Holmes II is an American power forward who plays for the Denver Nuggets in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as of May 2025. He was selected as the 22nd overall pick by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2024 NBA draft but was later traded. He signed with the Denver Nuggets on July 9, 2024. But, he suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury in his NBA Summer League debut on July 12, 2024.
Holmes II grew up in Goodyear, Arizona, United States and initially attended Millennium High School in his hometown. He later transferred to Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida, United States and finished his prep career at AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona, United States. He averaged 15.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game at AZ Compass Prep in the 2020-21 season, as per the Dayton Flyers' website.
