In her second game back after a minor knee sprain, UConn Huskies guard Paige Bueckers delivered her usual production pre-injury in their 72-61 Creighton win. On Saturday, the fourth-year sensation dropped 22 points with three 3-pointers, five rebounds, and four assists in 38 minutes of action.
Bueckers' performance charged the Geno Auriemma-coached squad to their 10th straight Big East conference victory of the year, pushing their overall record to 19-2. It's a great run for the senior star whose goal is to close off her collegiate career with a national championship.
With Bueckers hitting top form post-injury, the UConn faithful hailed her on X.
"Paige Bueckers, DEMON HOME," one user exclaimed.
"I'll go ahead & state the obvious here: PAIGE BUECKERS IS SO GOOD AT BASKETBALL," another claimed with a GIF.
"We love seeing aggressive Paige Bueckers on the court," another fan shared with an emoji.
Bueckers is also considered to be one of the reasons why the Creighton Bluejays' home attendance record in the CHI Health Center was crushed from 4,439 attendees to an astounding 11,141 when UConn played. Fans have since called on to credit the 5'11 standout in her drawing power, posting on X:
"Everybody say thank you Paige Bueckers," a user wrote.
"PAIGE BUECKERS IMPACT," another captioned.
"Only my GOAT, Paige Bueckers, can win during a Creighton pink out game," one fan said, alluding to the Bluejays' special night.
Bueckers and the rest of the Huskies will aim to stay in the win column when they play the DePaul Blue Demons on the road on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
