Denver Jones is a guard for the Auburn Tigers and plays as a senior in the 2024-2025 season. He hails from New Market, Alabama, and attended Memphis Day Academy in Tennessee. Jones began his collegiate career at Garden City Community College in the 2020-21 season, winning Jayhawk Conference Freshman of the Year. He scored 573 points in 30 games and shot 77 three-pointers. He transferred to Florida International University (FIU) for the 2021-22 season. He played 28 games as a freshman, scoring 322 points, and also won the Conference USA Freshman of the Week. During his sophomore 2022-23 season, Jones played in all 27 games and recorded double-digit scores 25 times. He scored 540 points, 103 rebounds, and 51 assists, with a personal-best 30 points against Rice on March 4, 2023. In 2023, Jones moved to Auburn and played in all 35 games, earning 33 starts. He registered 318 points, 42 assists, and 25 steals that season. He posted double-figure scores 16 times, including a season-best 21 points and seven three-pointers against Georgia on March 9, 2024. He contributed 19 points against Vanderbilt on January 31, 2024, and 17 points against Yale in the NCAA Tournament First Round on March 22, 2024. Jones also converted 69 of 80 attempts from the free-throw line. As an academic scholar, he was honored to the 2023-24 NABC Honors Court.

Denver Jones had a remarkable high school career in three different schools, first at Tennessee Preparatory Academy, followed by Buckhorn High School, and later graduated from the Memphis Day Academy in Tennessee. Throughout his high school, Jones scored more than 2,000 points. At Buckhorn, he guided his team to a 22-8 record as a sophomore. He was named to the all-state second team and the all-region first team at Memphis Day Academy. Jones also played AAU basketball for Team Thad and won numerous all-area recognitions while being the top scorer for his teams.
