The DePaul Blue Demons men's basketball team is the collegiate basketball program representing DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. As a member of the Big East Conference, the team has made 22 NCAA tournament appearances.

Robert Stevenson was the first head coach of the Blue Demons basketball program. Throughout their history, DePaul have won only two regular-season championships. In the summer of 2024, Chris Holtmann was hired as the program’s 16th head coach on a six-year contract.

Chris Holtmann is the head coach of the DePaul Blue Demons basketball team, as of December 2024. He arrived in Chicago after spending the last seven seasons as the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also served as the head coach at Gardner–Webb and Butler for three seasons each.

He has earned several accolades that helped in the team's success, like the Big East Coach of the Year in 2017 and Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2018. Holtmann is also a two-time Naismith Coach of the Year finalist.

Assistant Coaches

Jack Owens joined the DePaul basketball staff as the first assistant coach under Chris Holtmann on March 23, 2024. He was a part of Holtmann's coaching staff at Ohio State and spent two years with the program. Prior to his brief stint with the Buckeyes, Owens was the head coach at Miami for five years.

Paris Parham joined the DePaul basketball staff in May 2021, bringing nearly two decades of collegiate coaching experience to the team. He has previously served at UW-Milwaukee for four seasons before joining DePaul. During his tenure, Parham has played a pivotal role in player development and strategy implementation, contributing to the team's success on and off the court.

Bryan Mullins was appointed as an assistant coach earlier this summer and joined Holtmann's coaching staff after serving five seasons as the head coach of Southern Illinois Salukis. He was a four-year letterman at SIU and graduated in 2009 with a degree in finance.

LaVall Jordan's expertise in player development, scouting, and strategic analysis has significantly contributed to the team's competitive edge. With previous head coaching stints at Milwaukee and Butler, Jordan will serve as an assistant coach as well as DePaul's general manager.

Brandon Bailey joined DePaul's coaching staff earlier this summer and made a return to his alma mater after serving on the coaching staff with Holtmann at Ohio State. He spent two years with Maine Red Claws as the head coach in the 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons.
