Derrion Reid, born on June 27, 2006, plays basketball as a small forward for the Alabama Crimson Tide of the Southeastern Conference. Derrion Reid was rated as the 11th-best overall recruit in the class of 2024 by ESPN, On3, and 247Sports and was included in the Naismith All-American Honorable Mention Team.
Born and raised in Grovetown, Georgia, Reid attended Grovetown High School. During his sophomore year, he averaged 9.8 points and 3.4 rebounds which helped Grovetown win the Class 6A state championship. Reid relocated to Prolific Prep in Napa, California before the start of his senior year. As a senior in 2024, Reid was chosen to participate in the McDonald's All-American Boys Game.
Reid was rated a consensus five-star prospect in the 2024 class by major recruiting organizations. He received offers from Georgia and Florida State but decided to enroll with the Alabama Crimson Tide Basketball team on January 10, 2024.
