College basketball fans reacted to the tribute South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley gave to Philadelphia Eagles legend Randall Cunningham.
A die-hard Eagles fan, Staley sported a custom-made Randall Cunningham jacket during the Gamecocks' SEC game against No. 5-ranked Texas Longhorns on Sunday at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina.
Her outfit was a show of support for the Eagles in their NFC wildcard clash against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at the Lincoln Financial Field. The Philadelphia native even had an encouraging message before the start of the game for her favorite team.
"Drippiest coach alive 🙌🏽," one fan said.
"Dawnie isn’t new to this she’s TRUE to this 🦅," added another.
"That jacket too tough," a college hoops fan chimed in.
"One thing coach is going to do 🦅🦅🦅," a social media follower wrote.
Other fans appreciated the Philadelphia native's love for the Eagles and legendary quarterback Randall Cunningham.
"Dawn is Philly 😍," one fan opined.
"Love dawn ❤️❤️," another social media follower wrote.
"Cunningham was the TRUTH!!!," a user exclaimed.
"Legend!!!," another fan added.
Dawn Staley's support for the Philadelphia Eagles has been well-documented. She wears Eagles jerseys on top of her coaching attire whenever there is an important game for the Eagles.
The three-time national champion coach constantly congratulates the Eagles when they're winning games and delivers shouts out to the team when she's on the mic.
South Carolina coach Dawn Staley applauds Sania Feagin for an awesome defensive game
South Carolina coach Dawn Staley hailed senior forward Sania Feagin for holding her ground on defense. Feagin started for the Gamecocks and finished with eight points, nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and season-best six blocks.
The veteran coach applauded how the 6-foot-3 forward kept her feet above the big players of Texas and was directing the defensive plays perfectly.
"She had a pretty good game, I mean, from a statistical standpoint, but all the other stuff, the intangibles. She always kept her feet above the bigs. She was communicating out there and directing," Staley said (per On3).
Dawn Staley also gave her props to the team's defense on Texas' top scorer Madison Booker, who was held to seven points, on 3-of-19 shooting. Staley thought the defense employed on Booker was enough to force her to take ill-advised shots.
It was the fifth win for the Gamecocks against a Top 25 team this season. They remain unbeaten in the SEC regular season with a 4-0 mark and 16-1 overall. They'll be back in action on Thursday night against Alabama.
