The Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team plays in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Jon Scheyer coaches the team, as of 2025, which is fourth all-time in wins among NCAA men's basketball programs. Duke has participated in 11 Championship Games which is the third all-time, 17 Final Fours, and are tied for third all-time with Kentucky, and five NCAA Championships where they are tied with Indiana and UConn for fourth all-time.

The NBA draft saw the selection of 71 Duke players, and eleven were voted National Players of the Year. His 14 players have been recognized as Academic All-Americans and 36 players have been named All-Americans. In addition to holding 19 ACC regular season titles, Duke has won the Atlantic Coast Conference record 22 times. Duke won the Southern Conference championship five times before joining the ACC. Furthermore, with 200 straight poll appearances from 1996 to 2007, the Blue Devils hold the third-longest streak in the history of the AP Top 25.

Born on August 24, 1987, Jon Scheyer is an American basketball coach and former professional player. He now serves as the head coach of the Atlantic Coast Conference's Duke Blue Devils (ACC). As a player, Scheyer captained the 2009–10 Duke Blue Devils to the 2010 NCAA Basketball Championship as a college All-American and led his high school team to an Illinois state basketball championship as a high school All-American.

Head coach Mike Krzyzewski brought Scheyer on board as a special assistant in April 2013 following assistant coach Chris Collins' resignation from Duke. By April 2014, Scheyer had been promoted to assistant coach in charge. Scheyer and Nate James were promoted to co-associate head coach after Jeff Capel, the associate head coach, left to take a position as head coach at the University of Pittsburgh at the conclusion of the 2018 season. It was announced in June 2021 that Scheyer would succeed Mike Krzyzewski as head coach of Duke basketball once the 2021–22 season ended. He assumed the role of official head coach in April 2022.

Associate Head Coach

Chris Carrawell, a former Duke All-American who previously worked as an assistant coach at his alma mater, joined Duke's staff in March 2018. In June 2021, he received a promotion to Associate Head Coach. He oversaw the offense as the team's coordinator in 2022–2023 and concentrated on the team's frontcourt players.

During his five years as an assistant coach, Duke has finished 231-39, advanced to the 2022 Final Four, the Elite Eight in 2019, won the 21st and 22nd ACC Tournament crowns in 2019 and 2023, and won the 20th ACC regular season championship in 2022.

Jai Lucas became an associate head coach in June 2023 after joining the Blue Devils staff in May 2022. He contributes to the development of Duke's backcourt while primarily serving as the team's defensive coordinator.

Assistant Coaches

In July 2023, Will Avery, a former NBA lottery pick and standout player for Duke men's basketball, was hired as an assistant coach. Avery, who excelled at Duke from 1997 to 1999, has been helping out with different elements of the program for the past four years. After his second year, he left Duke to be selected by Minnesota with the 14th overall choice in the 1999 NBA Draft. After retiring from pro basketball in 2012, Avery returned to his hometown.

Emanuel Dildy was appointed assistant coach by Duke men's basketball head coach Jon Scheyer in August of 2023. Dildy worked as Chris Collins' assistant coach at Northwestern for three years, from 2018 to 2021. He served as Porter Moser's assistant coach at Oklahoma for two years before joining Duke.
