The Duquesne Dukes is the collegiate men's basketball team that represents Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Dukes are a part of the NCAA Division I Atlantic 10 Conference and have a history that dates back to 1914. They have made six appearances in the NCAA tournament. They helped players to the professional leagues, including Norm Nixon to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Dukes’ colors are red and blue, and they play their home games at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

Dru Joyce III was named the 18th head coach of the Duquesne Dukes men's basketball team in March 2024, after Keith Dambrot retired. Joyce was the Associate Head Coach at Duquesne from 2022 to 2024 and an assistant coach at Cleveland State from 2019 to 2022. Joyce played professionally for 12 years in Europe, he retired as the all-time assists leader in Germany's Basketball Bundesliga.

Assistant Coach

Rick McFadden, Julian Sullinger, Steve Wright, Ari Stern and Chase Goldstein are appointed as the assistant coaches of the Duquesne Dukes men's basketball team as of January 2025.

Rick McFadden enters his eighth year as an assistant coach for the Dukes. Julian Sullinger and Chase Goldstein were appointed in May 2024. Steve Wright, who coached at the Junior College, NAIA, and Division I levels, joined the Duquesne basketball coaching staff in July 2023. Ari Stern was a graduate assistant in the 2020-2021 season, becoming the Assistant AD/Basketball Administration for Duquesne in 2022 and rejoined the Dukes' staff in July 2023.
