Nelson became the second player in the school’s history to earn a USBWA All-District recognition. He set a career-high with 36 points against North Dakota. During his three years for the Bison, he accumulated 1,043 career points and 520 rebounds. In 2021, Nelson won the Summit League Sixth Man of the Year award and was also selected for the Summit League All-Newcomer Team. He began his 2023-2024 season as the No. 41 return-scorer in Division I college basketball and was also ranked as the No. 17 transfer by ESPN.
