At the 8:39 mark of the second quarter of Notre Dame's game versus Texas on Thursday, two-way guard Hannah Hidalgo made a play that got the crowd at the Purcell Pavillion going.
Hidalgo dove for the loose ball and fought for possession with Longhorns' Rori Harmon, trying to win the ball. As they were on the floor, Hidalgo got the steal and threw an overhead backwards pass to Olivia Miles for the wide-open layup.
The play gave the Fighting Irish a four-point edge, 26-22, as they won their sixth game this season. Fans on social media have since gone crazy over the play by the budding star.
"HANNAH HIDALGO ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? OVER HER HEAD BACKWARDS PASS," one fan reacted.

Hidalgo's one-of-a-kind assist was part of her stellar first-half performance where she had 19 points on 8-for-13 from the field, three steals, two rebounds, and two assists as Notre Dame finished the half, 39-34.
The game went into OT as the teams were tied 68-68 at the end of regulation. The Fighting Irish dominated the OT period to take home an 80-70 win, handing the Longhorns their first loss of the season.
