Hannah Hidalgo has been a topnotch member of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball team as a newcomer. She was regarded as a five star recruit before joining the University of Notre Dame. As a point guard, Hidalgo has proved to be very good with both offensive and defensive duties. She is impressive in shooting from long range and scoring by getting near the rim.

Hidalgo has been very impressive as a freshman in the 2023/24 season. She played 34 games with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and scored an excellent 22.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. She shot 45.1% from the field, including 34.7% from deep.

Hannah Hidalgo’s Early Life and Basketball Career

Hannah Hidalgo grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey, United States. She enrolled at Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey, United States. While there, she played varsity girl’s basketball for her high school team, the Paul VI Eagles. Her father, Orlando Hidalgo was the coach of her high school basketball team in middle school and high school.

Under her father’s guidance, Hannah Hidalgo found the most success as a senior during her high school basketball career. She led her team to the South Jersey Non-Public A final game. As a result she became the Courier-Post Player of the Year for the third consecutive time in her career. She was also declared as the New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year. At the end of her high school career, she was the all-time leading scorer with 2,135 career points.

Throughout Hidalgo’s varsity girl’s basketball career, she played 21 games and scored 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 7.4 steals per game. She graduated from her high school in 2023. ESPN regarded her as #5 player of her class. Hannah Hidalgo also competed in the 2023 MacDonald’s All-American Game and was declared as the co-MVP alongside JuJu Watkins.

Besides her high school girl’s basketball career, Hannah Hidalgo also displayed her talents on the international stage. She represented Team USA in FIBA Under-17 World Cup in 2022 and earned a gold medal. She won another gold medal for Team USA at the 2023 FIBA Under-19 World Cup.
