Hannah Hidalgo is a guard for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and plays as a sophomore in the 2024-2025 season. Hidalgo hails from Merchantville, New Jersey, and attended Paul VI High School. During her first season in 2023-2024, she broke multiple school records, such as acquiring the most steals in a single season with 160, and the most points made by a freshman in the history of the program with 790. She also led the season with 4.6 steals per game, placing among the best scorers in college basketball. Hidalgo was remarkable in the ACC Tournament for Notre Dame and also received multiple MVPs. She was also voted the ACC Rookie of the Year, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and was selected on the All-ACC First Team. Hidalgo also got national recognition, earning a spot in the AP All-America First Team and was a Wooden Award finalist. She earned a nomination for the Nancy Lieberman Award finalist and was a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. Hannah Hidalgo had a remarkable career at Paul VI High School in New Jersey with 2,135 career points despite the COVID-19 interruptions. She was ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the 2023 class by ESPN HoopGurlz. Hidalgo was also named the 2023 Gatorade New Jersey Player of the Year. She played in the McDonald's All-America Game, scoring 26 points and eight steals with Co-MVP honors. Hidalgo also competed at the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit and played for Team USA in the FIBA U19 Women's World Cup. Earlier in her career, she won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2022 FIBA U17 Women's World Cup. Hidalgo played club basketball for Philly Rise before she committed to Notre Dame.
