The 2024 NBA Draft is scheduled for 26 and 27 June at Barclays Center and ESPN Seaport District Studios. It will be broadcast live on ESPN and ABC. With all the talent on the roster, there are five small forwards from the NCAA and two international players who could go in the first round of the draft.

The No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher played for Bourg in France while late first-round pick and fellow Frenchman Pacome Dadiet played for Ratiopharm Ulm.

Small forwards' prospects in the first round of 2024 NBA Draft

#1. Dalton Knecht, Tennessee Volunteers

Dalton Knecht transferred to Tennessee in 2023 for his fifth college eligibility year with no prospects in the NBA. However, he led the Volunteers to the Elite Eight, a first since 2010, averaging 21.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He shot 45.8% from the floor and 39.7% from the three-point range.

In the NBA draft, Knecht further established himself as a 'ready for NBA rotational' player. Most mock drafts predict Knecht to be a top 10 lottery pick with ESPN projecting him at No.8.

#2. Cody Williams, Colorado Buffaloes

In his lone freshman season with the Buffaloes, Cody Williams averaged 11.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists playing 28.1 minutes per game with 18 starts. He shot 55.2% from the floor and 41.5% from deep.

Cody Williams is a No.11 pick on ESPN's latest mock draft and is a top 10 pick in other analysts' predictions.

"Williams is a rangy perimeter player whose size, length and flashes of transition-scoring, playmaking and defensive versatility give him intriguing upside," Jonathan Givony wrote.

#3. Johnny Furphy, Kansas

A mid-to-late first-round pick, Johnny Furphy spent one season with the Kansas Jayhawks before looking toward the NBA. He averaged 9.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 46.6% from the floor and 35.2% from deep.

"Furphy had some ups and downs throughout the season, but he thrived in a handful of key matchups when he was filling a small role. His size, shooting and willingness to play with intensity all work in his favor, even if he is still learning to shoot on the move and was not always strong enough to hold his own guarding in the Big 12," Givony wrote while predicting him to go at No.18.

#4. Kyshawn George, Miami

After averaging 7.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists in his freshman season, Kyshawn George decided to transition to the NBA. He is a predicted top-20 pick. ESPN projects him at No.19 while Sports Illustrated puts George at No. 20.

The Switzerland national is still not quite there yet in terms of NBA standards but does possess a good shooting range. He made 42.6% of his shots from the floor, including 40.8% from the three-point range.

#5. Terrence Shannon Jr., Illinois

Despite adversities such as false rape charges and a temporary suspension from the Illinois roster, Terrence Shannon Jr. powered through his graduate senior season. He averaged 23.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 47.5% from the floor.

While there were speculations that his legal struggles could impact his position in the draft order, Shannon Jr. is still a late first-round pick in most mock drafts.
