Sahvir Wheeler enters transfer portal
The transfer portal in college basketball is setting up to have plenty of exciting names, especially at point guard. Kentucky Wildcats guard Sahvir Wheeler is one of the most well-known names looking for the next team of his basketball journey.
Wheeler spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career playing for the Georgia Bulldogs. Then he transferred to Kentucky before the 2021-22 season. In that year, Wheeler averaged 10.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game.
The Wildcats had a competitive backcourt during the 2022-23 NCAA season. It featured freshman guard, and potential Top 10 2023 NBA draft selection, Cason Wallace. After returning to the lineup from a previous injury, Wheeler was called upon to share a crowded backcourt.
He finished the 2022-23 NCAA season with averages of 7.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg and 5.6 apg. Despite being undersized, Wheeler has the ability to be a poised floor general.
