Hunter Sallis is a guard for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and plays as a senior in the 2024-2025 season. Sallis hails from Omaha, Nebraska, and attended Millard North High School. During the 2023-2024 season, he was Wake Forest's leading scorer, averaging 18.0 points per game while shooting 48.7% from the field and 40.5% from three-point range. He collected several honors including First Team All-ACC recognition and the Associated Press ACC Newcomer of the Year award. Sallis scored in double figures in all but one of his 34 games, scoring 20 or more points 15 times. His best performance was against NC State, where he scored 33 points on 12-of-17 shots. He played two seasons at Gonzaga before transferring to Wake Forest, appearing in 69 games. During the 2022-2023 season, he averaged 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game, with a season-high 13 points against San Francisco. He played in all 32 games as a freshman, averaging 4.3 points per game with a 56.4% field goal percentage. Hunter Sallis had a remarkable career at Millard North High School. He was the first ever five-star recruit from Nebraska to begin his collegiate career. As a senior, he scored 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game and led Millard North to its first-ever Class A State Championship. Throughout his high school career, he scored 1,819 points and was ranked third all-time in Nebraska Class A history. In the state championship game, he made 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists to seal the championship. Sallis also appeared in the McDonald's All-American game and was ranked as the sixth-best player in the 2021 class by 247 Sports. He was also a semifinalist for the Naismith Trophy National High School Player of the Year and was invited to play in the USA Basketball U19 World Cup Team training camp. He was selected for the USA Nike Hoop Summit Team and also played for the Allen Iverson Roundball Classic game.
