"I can’t go against coach Saban": South Carolina WBB HC Dawn Staley unites with Nick Saban to back Alabama against Wisconsin

Dawn Staley and Nick Saban are two of the most important figures in collegiate sports. Staley has been the coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks female basketball team since 2008, while Saban is arguably the greatest coach in college football history.

Ahead of the Week 3 college football game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Wisconsin Badgers, coach Saban made his prediction.

The Crimson Tide legend picked his former side to come out victorious. He said:

“Roll Tide Roll, baby. Roll Tide Roll.”

South Carolina's Dawn Staley also picked Bama. She said:

"I’m gonna Roll Tide Roll. I can’t go against coach Saban.”

It must be a great feeling to be an Alabama Crimson Tide fan. The team has two of the most illustrious names of collegiate sports rooting for them in their upcoming game versus the Wisconsin Badgers.

Dawn Staley has been the head coach of South Carolina since 2008. She has racked up eight SEC Tournament titles, eight SEC regular-season championships, seven 30-win seasons, six NCAA Final Fours in the last nine tournaments, and three National Championships, among other honors.

She's already been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player, and by the time she's done in South Carolina, she's a shoo-in to get inducted as a head coach.

Coach Saban's run with the Alabama Crimson Tide is well documented. The greatest college football head coach of all time won six national championships with Bama, nine SEC titles and countless other awards.

Furthermore, Saban, like Staley, has been responsible for molding some of the game's best players at the collegiate level who went on to have successful professional careers.

Can Alabama go all the way in 2024?

The Alabama Crimson Tide have won their first two games under new head coach Kalen DeBoer. Neither of those games was close, but they'll fancy their chances against Wisconsin.

The Crimson Tide still have games against the Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers and LSU Tigers to consider. Their results in games against ranked opponents will paint a better picture of whether they'll be able to go all the way in the 2024 college football season. As of now, they are in the hunt to win their first national championship in the post-Nick Saban era.
