In Photos: 5 times Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan and ex-wife La La showed their close bond in IG snaps

Kiyan Anthony shares a close relationship with both his parents, Carmelo and La La Anthony. While Melo is present during his games, coaching and instructing him from the sidelines, La La is a spectator and giving her son shoutouts and declarations of adoration on social media.

#1 When Kiyan got his mother's face tattooed on his arm

It is quite common for people to get their loved ones' faces, or even eyes in some cases, tattooed on their bodies. For Kiyan Anthony, he chose his mother's face with the message:

“Dear Mom, you continuously put me before yourself. You are my why. I thank God for you everyday.”

He also has a "Creator of my own reality" tattooed on his ankle.

#2 Mother above all

As much as La La Anthony gives her shoutouts for her son on Instagram, Kiyan Anthony is also proud to express his love for his mother. On his Instagram story on Monday, the 17-year-old shared a picture of the two from their trip to Japan and wrote:

"my heart [red heart emoji]"

During an appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show", La La revealed that Kiyan is extremely protective of her, especially when it comes to dating. La La and Carmelo divorced in 2021 after 11 years together, citing irreconcilable differences

"He doesn't like it," she said when asked about Kiyan's thoughts on her dating. "He doesn't like it at all. So, I'm just like, 'You just want your mom to be alone like, forever?' He's like, 'Kind of.'"

#3 Karaoke anyone?

From their trip to Japan, La La Anthony also shared a video of Kiyan belting out 'Can You Stand the Rain' by New Edition. She wrote in the caption:

"He’s bacckkkk 😂😂 car karaoke with @kiyananthony Tokyo edition…."

#4 Always make time for mom

Despite being busy with his basketball games, Kiyan Anthony made time to celebrate the release of La La's movie 'The Bad Guardian' back in May. The actress shared a video from that day and wrote:

"Always fun when the family gets together! Thank you to my family for coming out and watching my new Lifetime movie The Bad Guardian with me! It’s such a good one!!! A Lifetime classic!!"

#5 Never too cool for mom

This is just one example of La La's multiple Instagram posts with Kiyan Anthony. He does not shy away from striking a pose with his mother. In a video shared by La La on his birthday, Kiyan said:

"My relationship with my mom? We locked in. That's my ride-or-die. My relationship with her is more than that [mother-son]. She is my best friend. We do everything together."
