In the heart of the off-season, LSU women’s basketball team is all about hard work and grit. Head coach Kim Mulkey got her girls back in the training facility for the summer workout session.
The Tigers basketball team shared snippets on social media from their training center in Baton Rouge. Flau'jae Johnson, the rising star in the LSU dressing room, is featured in one of the photos, showcasing her strength as she performs a one-handed plank.
In the next picture, a 6-foot guard, Mikaylah Williams is captured mid-workout. She seems concentrated while performing a step-up routine.
"You grind hard then you shine harder," the caption reads.
The gym's weight racks mirror the rigorous training that molds champions. SEC All-Freshman Aalyah Del Rosario is shown in the next photo. She is using dumbbells to do bench presses, with a club trainer standing by to ensure each lift is performed safely. Meanwhile, her teammates were in the backdrop, motivating her to push further.
Furthermore, in the final image of the post, LSU's Shy Day-Wilson is lifting a dumbbell over her head while kneeling on one knee and having the other foot forward.
The LSU women's basketball team, who won the national championship in 2023, is aiming for another NCAA title. Following the departure of their key player Angel Reese, coach Mulkey has begun reconstructing the squad with Johnson and Williams at the core.

The LSU women's basketball team is now entering the post-Angel Reese era. After Reese was drafted into the WNBA, the Tigers had no choice but to find another leader. This is where the 2023 SEC Freshman of the Year, Flau'jae Johnson, steps in.
