Iowa Hawkeyes forward Jada Gyamfi expressed her approval of the inspiration behind Gracie Adams' new song, "That's So True." Adams, a singer-songwriter, released the song last October and has since gained attention from the international music scene to consumers such as Gyamfi.

On Thursday, Gyamfi reposted @espnw's post covering the topic on her Instagram story and captioned it:

"This is the media I want to consume."

The post showcased how the record is inspired by Lebron James' meme in which he took a selfie under direct sunlight.

"Smiling through it all! Can't believe this my life," the meme's caption reads.

On "That's So True," the acoustic song contains a lyric that's based on the meme that reads:

"Smiling through it all, yeah, that's my life."

Furthermore, @espnw's Instagram upload shows a quote from Abrams via Entertainment Weekly that explains why she chose the meme as one of the inspirations for her new song, which has since garnered 5.3 million views on YouTube.

"Aubrey (Hobert) and I would send that (meme) back forth when we were really sad to each other, and then during COVID, I think it was my birthday?... She made me a huge blanket with that picture on it. Like the entirety of the blanket was just that photo... And his big smile," the photo reads.

With how Gyamfi reacted to the inspiration behind the song, it's cool for fans to know what kind of music taste the 6-foot-1 Hawkeye possesses and what type of pop culture media she consumes.

Jada Gyamfi and the Iowa Hawkeyes are still in the mix post-Caitlin Clark

The Iowa Hawkeyes, who lost in last season's NCAA national championship game, are reaping in a bid to return to the final stage of women's college basketball without Caitlin Clark. The former college sensation has since joined the WNBA ranks and was recently named the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year.

Iowa hasn't lost a step thus far with a 9-1 record. Guard Lucy Olsen has been picking up the scoring slack with 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Gyamfi, meanwhile, is aiming to crack the main rotation with averages of 2.0 markers on 66.7% field goal percentage.

Seeking their 10th win of the year, the team's next fixture is scheduled for Sunday against the Michigan State Spartans at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan.
