Dayton shooter Koby Brea has been one of the sought-after players in the transfer portal after announcing his entry on Apr. 16 through social media.
Almost a week after posting the report on social media, On3.com senior national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw announced that Brea trimmed down his choices to five: UConn, Kansas, Duke, North Carolina and Kentucky.
The six-foot-six wingman also noted that he has completed Zoom calls with each program, so the teams are now waiting for his final decision. According to ESPN reporter Jeff Borzello, Brea is still deciding on which schools he wants to visit.
Last season, Brea averaged 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 33 games for Dayton. He provides a spark off the bench with his outside sniping.
Brea led the nation in 3-point shooting with a 49.8% clip from beyond the arc. He has one year of college eligibility after spending four seasons with the Flyers.
Back-to-back champions UConn has expressed interest in acquiring the No. 13 shooting guard in the transfer portal after some of its top producers last season declared for the 2024 NBA Draft.
Will Brea fit into the Huskies roster in the 2024-25 season? What role will he play for UConn if he accepts their offer? Let's delve deeper into Brea's eligibility status.

Koby Brea to help boost UConn's outside sniping
Getting Brea from the transfer portal is possible for UConn, considering the number of key players declaring for the NBA Draft.
Donovan Clingan, Alex Karaban and Stephon Castle have jumped the gun already and declared for the draft. Seniors Tristen Newton and Cam Spencer have yet to announce their declarations, but they are expected to decide soon.
Brea was the third leading scorer for Dayton in the regular season and improved his stats in the NCAA Tournament. He started in both games for the Flyers and averaged 14.5 points on 55.6% from the field and 56.3% from the 3-point area.
UConn shot 36.7% from the deep, so getting Brea from the transfer portal will be awesome news for the Huskies' faithful. The team recently acquired Tarris Reed Jr from Michigan, replacing Clingan, and if they get Brea's commitment, UConn's need for an excellent shooter will come to fruition.
