UConn guard Paige Bueckers has earned over a million in NIL deals due to her talent in basketball. Her valuation stands at $1.4 million, ranking third in Women's NIL valuation behind LSU guard Flau'Jae Johnson ($1.5 million) and gymnast Livvy Dunne ($4.2 million), per On3.
From the time she earned her first NIL deal on November 10, 2021, with StockX, Bueckers has hauled in 22 NIL deals, including Panini America, Topps, new women's league Unrivaled, Bose, Taco Bell, Dunkin' and Nike.
On Saturday, she debuted her first player edition model of the Nike G.T. Hustle 3, becoming the first college athlete to design her own shoe. The sneaker contains her favorite colors, baby blue and lavender purple, the area codes for Hopkins, Minnesota (her hometown), and UConn, as well as an embroidered bucket and a play on her surname "buckets."
The inspirational message from her father — "Be You, Be Great" — is also inscribed on the shoe.
Bueckers, who has over two million followers on Instagram, 2.9 million in TikTok and 142,000 on X, was thrilled and honored with the sneaker designed by Nike for her. She describes the shoes as personal as they pay tribute to two places she calls home, the message of her father and the design colorway.
Paige Bueckers continues to lead UConn in 2024-25 women's college basketball season
Paige Bueckers has been at the forefront of No. 2 UConn's 2024-25 women's college basketball campaign. She leads the Huskies in scoring (20.4 points), passing (4.6 assists) and shooting (60.9%).
This year, UConn has relatively been healthy and deep. Whether it's Paige Bueckers, Sarah Strong, or returning from injury, Azzi Fudd, everybody is willing to contribute and take over.
On Saturday, the Huskies demolished No. 22 Louisville 85-52 in the Women's Champions Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Bueckers had her worst offensive game of the season, making eight points, on 2 of 11 shooting (1 of 6 from the 3-point area).
However, she recorded 10 rebounds, three of them from the offensive end, and six assists in 26 minutes to help UConn remain unbeaten in eight games and inflicted Louisville its fourth defeat in nine games.
Five days later, they will visit the Purcell Pavilion to take on Hannah Hidalgo, Olivia Miles and the rest of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
