Jace Howard is a guard for the Michigan Wolverines and a graduate student, as of the 2024-2025 season. He hails from Miami, Florida and attended University School. Howard played five seasons for the Wolverines as a key backup and was also the team captain. He served two times as team captain in 2023 and 2024. Howard earned a selection in the Academic All-Big Ten team during the 2022-2023 season. He played in 11 games during his 2020-2021 freshman season, getting his first start against Ball State and registering his first points against Northwestern. Howard played in 30 games in the 2022-2023 season and averaged 1.2 points per game. His career highs during the 2023-2024 season were eight points against Purdue and seven rebounds against Penn State. Howard assisted Michigan in winning the 2025 Big Ten Tournament and earning qualification to the NCAA Tournament. Throughout his college career, he helped secure several NCAA Tournament appearances, including consecutive Sweet 16 runs in 2021 and 2022, along with an Elite Eight finish in 2021.

Jace Howard had a remarkable career at Gulliver Prep in Miami, Florida, before transferring to University School, where he played with former Michigan player Ron Oliver. As a senior in the 2019-20 season, he averaged 10.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, helping University School to a 19-7 record. Howard also finished with a Class 4A regional semifinal berth. He recorded 15 double-digit scoring games and a personal-high 21 points against Deerfield Beach. During his junior year, Howard helped University School advance to a Class 5A state championship as he sat out eight weeks of action after breaking his tibia. He contributed 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds for the year. As a sophomore, he registered 7.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Howard also competed in AAU basketball with Mac Irvin Fire on the Nike EYBL Circuit in 2019 and with Florida Lightning in 2018.
