Jacy Rae Sheldon is an American guard playing for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA. She was selected as the fifth overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She attended Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio, where she made a significant impact, leading the team to several titles in the state.
As a high school junior, Sheldon averaged 26.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5.2 steals per game, earning Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association Division I Co-Player of the Year honors. During her senior year, she set a school record by scoring 52 points in a game against Eastmoor Academy. Sheldon graduated as Dublin Coffman’s all-time leader in points, assists, and steals and was a three-time Columbus Dispatch All-Metro Player of the Year. In addition to basketball, she was also an all-state volleyball player and a five-star recruit.
In her rookie season with the Dallas Wings, Jacy Sheldon has played in 27 games, as of August 2024. She didn’t get the starter spot in the team at first, but now, Sheldon has earned a spot in the starting lineup. Sheldon is also shooting the three-ball at an impressive 38.1% clip and is averaging 5.5 points per game. Beyond scoring, her ball-handling skills have been a standout. She is great at setting up plays for her teammates and continues to improve with each game. Recently, it was announced that Sheldon had signed with the Townsville Fire for the upcoming WNBL season.

Jacy Sheldon college basketball career began with the Ohio State Buckeyes as a freshman in the 2019/20 season. At the end of the season, she was honored as a member of the Second Team All-Big Ten in 2021.
She improved further as a junior in the 2021/22 season, where she notably scored a career-high 33 points in Ohio’s win against the Michigan State Spartans. After the season, Jacy Sheldon was a member of the First Team All-Big Ten and also a member of the Big Ten All-Defensive Team - Coaches in 2022.
During her first junior 2022/23 season, she suffered from a foot injury and could only play 13 games for the Buckeyes. In her final season with Ohio State, Sheldon was again named to the First Team All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Defensive Team.
Throughout five seasons with Ohio State, Sheldon played 130 games, averaging 15.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game. She is also shooting 49.1% from the field, including 35.0% from deep.
