John Calipari is an American basketball coach who has been leading the University of Kentucky’s men’s basketball team since 2009. He has recorded several accomplishments while leading Kentucky, which includes leading the team to a top title, the NCAA Championship, in 2012.
Calipari has also earned the Naismith College Coach of the Year award, three times, in 1996, 2008, and 2015. In 2015, John Calipari gained entry to the Basketball Hall of Fame for his contribution to the sport. Before his journey in Kentucky, he coached at the University of Memphis from 2000 to 2009. He also had notable stints with the New Jersey Nets (now the Brooklyn Nets) and the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) during the late 1990s.
