Lance Jones is a former point guard for Purdue University's Boilermakers. He hails from Evanston, Illinois, and attended Evanston Township High School. Before joining Prude, he played with the Southern Illinois Salukis basketball program, enrolling in 2019 and played for four seasons. Jones made history in SIU by ranking 12th in the program for 1,514 points in 119 games, being the third grader with 205 three-pointers, fifth with 176 career steals, and fifth with 1.48 steals per game.

After transferring to the Boilermakers, he averaged 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. He led the team to a 21-3 record in those games while scoring 10 or more points in 24 games, including a season-high 26 points in an overtime victory over Northwestern in January. Regardless, he declared for the 2024 NBA draft and went undrafted, only to be signed by the Indiana Pacers for the Summer League in June 2024.

Lance Jones had a remarkable high school career, he won 110 games in four seasons for the Evanston Township Basketball Team. Helping the team to a third-place finish in the 2018 IHSA 4A State tournament and a second-place finish in 2019. Jones was named to the IBCA All-State team twice in 2018 and 2019. He won the 2019 Pioneer Press All-Area Player of the Year Award.
