
The LSU Tigers represent Louisiana State University in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). During Kim Mulkey’s second year in the program, LSU was crowned the 2023 National Champions.

Kim Mulkey is the head coach of the LSU Tigers women’s basketball program. She is the only coach to win National Championships with multiple programs. Prior to LSU, she led Baylor to three National titles.
Mulkey has also served as an assistant coach and associate head coach at Louisiana Tech University. She also had an incredible resume as a player, as she led the Lady Techsters to two national titles and four Final Four appearances from 1980 to 1984.

Associate Head Coach
Bob Starkey returned to the LSU coaching staff in April 2022 to serve as an associate head coach on Mulkey’s coaching staff. Starkey is a seasoned coach with more than 30 years of experience in the SEC. He also served as an interim head coach for LSU in 2007.
Assistant Coaches
Daphne Mitchell, Gary Redus II, Kaylin Rice, and Seimone Augustus are the assistant coaches of the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team.
Daphne Mitchell, who worked under Kim Mulkey at Baylor, has entered her fourth season as an assistant coach with the LSU Tigers. She also made stops at Murray State, Jacksonville, and Tennessee Tech.
Gary Redus II joined Mulkey’s coaching staff during the 2022/23 season and has entered his third season at LSU.
Seimone Augustus, who joined Kim Mulkey’s coaching staff in May 2024, is a former LSU student-athlete. She became the first female student-athlete to receive a statue in her honor in 2023.
Kaylin Rice will serve her third season on the LSU coaching staff and her second season as the Director of Women’s Basketball Recruiting.
