Shaka Dingani Smart, an American men's college basketball coach and former player, currently serves as the head men's basketball coach at Marquette University. Rising to prominence in 2011, Smart led Virginia Commonwealth University to its first and only Final Four appearance in the 2011 NCAA tournament. Marquette basketball coach Smart was hired in March 2021 to succeed Steve Wojciechowski, becoming the program's first Black head coach in history.
