Megan Duffy, born on July 13, 1984, is one of the top American women's college basketball coaches who has entered her first year as head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies. Before her arrival at Blacksburg, Duffy made head coaching stops at Miami (Ohio) and Virginia Tech. She was a four-year letterwinner with Notre Dame and also played as a point guard for WNBA team Minnesota Lynx.

Megan Duffy Coaching History

Duffy's coaching journey began at St. John's under Kim Barnes Arico where she served as an assistant for three years before accepting an associate head coaching role at Georgia Washington in 2012. She also spent three years at Michigan as an assistant coach before earning her first head coaching role in 2017 for the Miami RedHawks.

Duffy coached the program for two seasons and led them to two postseasons. In two seasons with the program, Duffy led Miami (Ohio) to a pair of WNIT appearances. In 2019, she was announced the new head coach of Marquette and became the most winningest in the program’s history. In five seasons with the Golden Eagles, she led the team to the NCAA tournament four times and became the fastest coach to reach the 100-win mark in Marquette’s history. Duffy accumulated a 110-46 record with Marquette and decided to replace Kenny Brooks at Virginia Tech as the women’s basketball coach.
