Mercy Miller is a guard for the Houston Cougars and plays as a freshman in the 2024-2025 season. Miller hails from Sherman Oaks, California, and attended Notre Dame High School. He was considered one of the top recruits in his class, committing to Houston in August 2021 over offers from Minnesota and Missouri. Miller began his collegiate career as a 4-star recruit, he was ranked as the No. 50 player in the nation by 247Sports and the No. 68 player in the ESPN100 list. In his junior year, Miller led Notre Dame to its first CIF state championship. He played a remarkable game with 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and five steals in the championship game. His senior season was notable as he averaged 29.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. He earned the SB Live CIF Southern Section Offensive Player of the Year honor and scored a school-record 68 points in a single game. Miller ended his high school career as one of the top prospects in the nation under head coach Matt Sargeant.
