LSU Tigers star Flau'jae Johnson has been nominated for the Sportswoman of the Year honor at the upcoming BET Awards 2024, hosted by actress Taraji P. Henson. She is nominated alongside other sportswomen like Angel Reese and Sha'Carri Richardson.
The show airs this Sunday at 7 p.m. CT. Flau'jae, who is also a talented rapper, is part of the inaugural BET Culture Class, which will be featured prominently at the event.
Recently, she was spotted with rapper NLE Choppa during the BET Awards' Celebrity All-Star Game. The pictures were shared on Instagram by SJTV.
This year’s BET Culture Class includes not just Flau'jae, who is worth $1.2 million (per On3), but also Lynae Vanee, Pretty Vee and Vic Mensa. Others in the mix are Rhapsody, Kimmy’s Kreation, DeAndre Brown, Tunde, Bryon Javar and Speedy Morman. These creators represent a wide range of Black culture, from music and comedy to sports, fashion and community wellness.
Flau'jae Johnson's latest song, AMF (Ain’t My Fault), features NLE Choppa. Last year, he invited Flau'jae and her LSU teammate Angel Reese to appear in the music video for his single, Champions. The video also featured athletes like Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mike Tyson.

The sophomore guard has teamed up with hip-hop stars like Lil Wayne and NLE Choppa, while also trying to help LSU defend its basketball title in the NCAA tournament. According to The New York Times, Johnson performed rap shows twice in the past year within 24 hours of a game or practice.
In one instance, she opened for popular rapper Rod Wave in Atlanta after traveling from Louisiana on a day off from basketball. Johnson left the stage with body cramps after another performance in November, having scored 17 points in a game just hours before.
She's clearly an emerging rap star, and her debut EP, Best of Both Worlds, featured Lil Wayne.
