From an electric performance on "America's Got Talent" in 2018 to being a basketball star, rap artist and student, Flau'jae Johnson is mastering plenty steadily. The LSU guard was nominated for the BET Sportswomen of the Year 2024 award and is in line for a potential NIL store's Hustle Awards.
In a video posted by "Young, Bold, and Regal" on YouTube, Johnson was at the BET Awards brunch and was asked about the element that makes her a "culture creator." Flau'jae Johnson, who attended the award ceremony Sunday evening, didn't think twice before disclosing her biggest quality.
"Just being authentic. Being authentic in what I do, in my music, in my basketball, in my presence just on social media. I think I'm just so authentic," Johnson said.
As a freshman, Flau'jae Johnson won the 2023 SEC Freshman of the Year and was part of the LSU team that clinched the NCAA title in 2023, shooting her stock high during her first collegiate year. Moreover, she has maintained her status as the program’s one of the best players since.
Additionally, Johnson recently launched her first rap album named "Best of Both Worlds," which has features from NLE Choppa, 2Rare and Lil Wayne.
Per On3, Johnson has an NIL valuation of $1.2 million. She has endorsement deals with Meta, JBL, Taco Bell and Puma, making her one of the highest-paid athletes in college basketball.
Johnson has a team of professionals handling the business side of her brand. However, she is actively involved in the process and evaluates her market value through a set of metrics.

During the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday, Flau'Jae Johnson became one of the inaugural members of BET’s "Culture Class," an intuitive to highlight and promote deep-rooted facets of Black culture. Moreover, the Culture Class radiates the beginning of a new era that celebrates the breadth of achievement and talent across the community.
Johnson was part of a diverse group of creators stemming from various industries like travel, comedy, music, politics, sports, fashion, food and fitness. Pretty Vee, Lynae Vanee, Vic Mensa, Rhapsody and DeAndre Brown were a few of the names present on the select panel.
