Aneesah Morrow is playing her final season with Flau'jae Johnson and the LSU Tigers. The guard played two seasons at DePaul before transferring to Baton Rouge as a junior. After the Elite Eight exit last season, Morrow and the Tigers have set big goals for this campaign and the guard is leading from the front.

In the 15 games she has played this season, Aneesah Morrow has accumulated 276 points and 214 rebounds. The LSU Tigers shared the stats via Instagram on Monday with the caption:

"Only one player in the country has over 250 points and over 200 rebounds this season. Her name is Aneesah Morrow."

Morrow's teammate, the $1.5 million NIL-valued (per On3) Flau'jae Johnson's mother, Kia Brooks, reshared the post on her Instagram story and wrote:

"And she ours."

Aneesah Morrow revealed that she was competing with Flau'jae Johnson for special honors

As much as she is a teammate, Aneesah Morrow also has her personal goals to achieve and her competitor for these honors within the LSU roster is Flau'jae Johnson. The two guards have been named in preseason awards, including SEC Player of the Year.

During her SEC Media Day appearance, Aneesah Morrow revealed that she planned on working together with Johnson, while also competing for the honors.

"I would say just the media honors for me, just trying to stay motivated with my team," Morrow said.
"Me and Flau'jae gonna challenge each other every day like we did last year with steals and just on the floor. So, just continuing to challenge each other and work hard," she added.

Morrow is averaging 18.4 points, 14.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.7 steals. She has a new role within the team as the leader, which she shares with Flau'jae Johnson. Commenting on it, the guard said:

"She (coach Kim Mulkey) told me she wants me to be more of a vocal leader. She knows that I lead by example and my teammates will follow, but she wants me to be more verbal. And that's something I've been working on in practice. I've gotten a lot better at it, actually."

The LSU Tigers are on a 15-game winning streak and are preparing for a tough run ahead against the Southeast Conference teams. This includes ranked teams like Tennessee and South Carolina, starting in January. The new year for the Tigers begins with an away game against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Thursday.
