Dawn Staley showed off her energy and strength in a gym photo on X (formerly Twitter), striking a confident pose alongside her South Carolina players. The Sunday post, originally from South Carolina’s director of performance Molly Binetti, captured the early-morning grind of the Gamecocks as they prepared for game day.

“Early birds… Be like us and get to your seats early so we can get the CLA rocking!! #GameDay #BodyByBinetti,” Binetti’s caption read.

Dawn Staley, standing front and center, joined in the excitement by reposting the image with her own caption:

“Let’s goooo!!! Let’s get it!! Thank you Molly! Thank you game day gang!” Staley said.

The moment highlighted South Carolina's staff work ethic, strong leadership and sense of unity.

With an estimated net worth of $12 million (per Yahoo Sports), Staley is one of the most successful coaches in college basketball. She has built a legacy of excellence, leading the Gamecocks to three NCAA championships and turning them into a powerhouse. Her hands-on approach to coaching has kept her connected to her Gamecocks.

Dawn Staley gives assessment on South Carolina Gamecocks’ progress amid challenges

In a candid assessment of the Gamecocks' season after No. 2 South Carolina's 67-50 victory over No. 5 Texas at home on Sunday, Dawn Staley expressed optimism about their potential, even as they navigate facing top opponents.

“I like the fact that we haven't reached our potential,” Staley said. “Like, we're still getting better. With the injuries, we're still formulating who we are but this league will tell us who we are. It will define who we are and the successes we've had over the years.”

Staley highlighted two key areas: rebounding and efficient field-goal shooting.

“We’ve been a great rebounding team and an efficient field-goal shooting team,” Staley explained. “But we’re not there as far as the numbers go. You need to be around the top five in those categories, because there are really good teams out there that will challenge those two areas.”

Despite the room for improvement, Staley noted that the Gamecocks are making strides, particularly in shot selection and offensive efficiency. However, she issued a warning about an observed issue: allowing opponents too many second-chance opportunities.

“Giving up 20 offensive rebounds will kill you on any other night,” Staley said, emphasizing the vulnerability in the game against the Texas Longhorns.

As the Gamecocks (16-1, 4-0 Southeastern Conference) continue to build on their strengths and address their weaknesses, Staley remains confident in their ability to compete at the highest level.
