Flau'Jae Johnson's mom, Kia Brooks, posted a video today of the LSU star and rapper beaming with joy as she held her newborn baby brother. Johnson's mother gave birth in May 2024 and posted the video as part of a 2024 recap.
"When you're 42 with a newborn, and your 20 year old daughter thinks the baby is hers and you're just the surrogate! 🤣🤦🏾♀️🥰🥺" Brooks wrote.
Flau'jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow were named to Wooden Award watchlist
Flau’jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow, stars of the No. 6 LSU, have both earned spots on the midseason top-25 watchlist for the prestigious John R. Wooden Award. Their performances have been key to LSU’s impressive 17-0 start, which is the nation’s longest active win streak.
Johnson has been a major force for LSU, averaging 19.7 ppg, ranking fifth in the SEC, and pulling down 6.1 rpg. She’s scored in double figures for 26 straight games, a streak dating back to last season. This year, she’s recorded four double-doubles, including two games where she scored more than 20 points.
Notably, Johnson is the only SEC guard with multiple 20-point double-doubles this season. Earlier in the season, she achieved an impressive streak of three consecutive games with at least 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists — a feat only matched by LSU greats Angel Reese and Khayla Pointer in the past 25 years.
Morrow, on the other hand, leads the nation in double-doubles, with 15 so far this season. She averages 14.0 rpg, the highest in the country, and she also scores 18.1 ppg, ranking sixth in the SEC. Her 2.65 spg places her sixth in the conference.
Morrow has had eight games with at least 15 rebounds, including four where she also scored 20 or more points. She’s closing in on significant career milestones, needing just 14 points to reach 2,500 and 33 rebounds to hit 1,500.
Only six players in NCAA Division I history have ever reached both marks. Her next double-double will be her 90th, tying her for the third-most in NCAA Division I history.
With their outstanding play, both Johnson and Morrow have positioned themselves as strong contenders for the award.
