4-star SG Kiyan Anthony drops his wisdom on fashion; reveals shopping trick for tourists in Japan

Kiyan Anthony's fashion sense has been a subject of fascination for many. Thanks to his actress and model mom La La, the young basketball phenom has been exposed to the world of style from an early age.

Earlier this summer Kiyan and his mom went on a vacation trip to Japan. They visited several landmarks in Tokyo and Kyoto and shopped at some of the cities's famous fashion hotspots.

The latest episode of Overtime's 'Evolu7ion, released Saturday on YouTube, featured the 17-year-old four-star shooting guard prospect (per 247Sports) discussing his experience in Japan and how he navigates the world of fashion.

"My style? I try to have not a lot of sandwich fits," Kiyan said. So, the definition of a sandwich fit it where you got the color on the top then you got a color for your pants but then you got the same color on your feet as you got on the top. So you got to try to limit your sandwich fits. You got to try to color coordinate." [13:24]

Kiyan Anthony also mentioned a key shopping trick for tourists visiting the country.

"When you're in Tokyo and at the passport check if you from a different country, you can show your passport and then you get no taxes, you got 10% off so, it's valid man." [14:50]

Kiyan Anthony learns two Japanese words during his Japan trip

Kiyan Anthony was fortunate to immerse himself in the rich cultural heritage of Japan during his visit there this summer.

One aspect of his experience was his newfound appreciation for the Japanese language. In episode eight of 'Evolu7ion,' Anthony revealed that he had successfully learned two Japanese words during his time in the country.

"Language? 'Arigato' that means thank you and then 'Konnichi was; means, like, hi and bye, Kiyan said.

The high school senior also expressed how safe and comfortable he felt navigating through the streets in Japan.

"I just feel so safe like nothing is going to (hurt you)," he said. "I just feel harmless like I could walk past anybody. Everybody's so nice even though they don't speak English."

The top prospect from New York is reportedly closing in on his college decision. He is considering three schools — Syracuse, Auburn and USC.

As per Joe Tipton of On3recruits, Kiyan Anthony will announce his commitment in an episode of his dad Carmelo's podcast '7PM in Brooklyn' on Nov. 15.

Anthony will play his final season in high school for the Long Island Lutheran High in New York. He also plays for Team Melo in AAU circuits.
