"Like father, like son" is a phrase that is frequent in the sports world, especially in basketball, regarding the likes of Dylan Harper and Cameron Boozer, being sons of former NBA players Ron Harper and Carlos Boozer. When it comes to father-son duos, where both are successful and showcase superstar potential and talent throughout their careers, that has mainly been uncommon.

The Made Hoops Instagram page made a post listing the best father-son duos. While they later clarified that the ones listed only include sons that are part of the Class of 2025, notable current and former NBA players named feature Carmelo Anthony (Kiyan Anthony), Andre Iguodala (Andre Iguodala Jr.), Jermaine O'Neal (Jermaine O'Neal Jr.), Dominique Wilkins, LeBron James (Bryce James), Carlos Boozer (Cameron and Cayden), and Gilbert Arenas (Alijah Arenas).

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree 🧬 The genes in the 2025 class are DEEP! Who are the best father/son hoopers?" the post read.

Dylan Harper caught wind of the original post before the clarification was made and, seeing the absence of him and his father, reacted to it with a three-word comment.

"No harpers damnn," he said.

What Ron Harper achieved, and Dylan Harper continuing the family line

While the Instagram post rightfully listed the father-son duos with plenty of NBA stars, Dylan Harper does have a lot going for him, thanks to his father, Ron.

The older Harper played 14 years in the league, winning five championships with the Chicago Bulls (1996-98) and Los Angeles Lakers (2000-01). While he did not receive All-Star recognition, he was viewed as an essential role player in the Bulls and Lakers' title runs.

The younger Harper has started his collegiate career at Rutgers on a high note, averaging 23.8 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.5 rebounds on 51.1% shooting from the field and 28.6% from beyond the arc after eight games. He recently scored a combined 73 points against Notre Dame on November 26 and No. 10 Alabama on November 27, demonstrating his ability to score at a high level.

He will look to keep that pace going when Rutgers goes on the road to play Ohio State at the Value City Arena on December 7 at noon ET.
