Basketball prodigy Keisei Tominaga, who represented his country with the Japanese men's national team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, will now play for NBA G League United. Tominaga did not get picked in the 2024 NBA draft but joined the Indiana Pacers earlier this summer after signing an Exhibit 10 contract.

The 6-foot-2 combo guard previously played for Ranger College in Texas before moving to join the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2021, where he spent three seasons.

On Thursday, the NBA G League announced that Tominaga will join the G League United team for the Fall Invitational and the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in September. The Fall Invitational will kick off on the fourth and last for two days at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, California. It will showcase top NBA G League prospects playing against Mega MIS, a top team from Serbia.

Keisei Tominaga ended his Husker career averaging 15.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, helping the team make it to the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska finished the season in third place in the Big Ten standings.

Keisei Tominaga signs with UA's Stephen Curry brand

The Japanese breakout star, also dubbed the “Japanese Steph Curry," agreed to a multi-year deal with Under Armour's Curry brand in June.

Tominaga, who draws a huge inspiration from the Golden State Warriors superstar, proudly wears a #30 jersey to honor his idol. Tominaga first met Steph Curry over five years ago when he was invited to the 2018 Under Armour Basketball Tour in Tokyo. Tominaga's style of play, influenced by Curry, was how he earned his nickname:

"It is an incredible honor to join Curry Brand and be among its elite roster of athletes," Tominaga said. "Steph has always been one of my basketball heroes and I have worked hard to emulate his game in my own basketball career, so to be able to represent his brand and everything he stands for is a dream come true."

Curry shared his excitement at bringing Tominaga on board:

“We are excited to have Keisei join the Curry Brand family as we continue to extend our mission internationally. He has a dedication to the game and continues to be an inspiration for athletes across the globe," Curry said.

Tominaga became the first athlete from outside the United States to join the marquee brand and will wear their shoes and clothes on the court as he steps into the next chapter of his career.
