It feels like yesterday when Angel Reese was breaking records for the LSU Tigers under the guidance of head coach Kim Mulkey. However, she has now taken the same energy to the Chicago Sky in the WNBA.

Reese has been phenomenal in the WNBA, scoring 11 straight double-doubles. As a result, she was awarded the WNBA Rookie of the Month and made it to the WNBA All-Star Game. Kim Mulkey took to X to congratulate Reese, writing:

"11th straight double-double. WNBA Rookie of the Month. WNBA All-Star. All in the same day! Congrats Angel Reese!"

Angel Reese was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. As soon as she started her WNBA career, she recorded the most offensive rebounds (24) in her first five games of the season. She has started in every game for the Sky so far and has set the record for the most consecutive double-doubles.

Reese averaged 13.2 ppg, 7.1 drpg, 11.8 rpg and 1.9 apg in 18 games. She shot 39.7% from the field and 74.2% from the foul line. Surprisingly, she has not secured a single three-pointer in the WNBA so far.

After a life full of struggles back home, it was Angel Reese's dream to play in the WNBA. She got emotional when she was announced as part of the 2024 WNBA All-Star team.

"I'm just so happy I know the work I put in. Coming into this league, so many people doubted me and didn't think my game would translate and I wouldn't be the player that I was in college or better or would be worse or wouldn't be where I am right now. But I trusted the process and I believed," she said via The Athletic's X handle.

Along with Angel Reese, former Iowa sensation Caitlin Clark was also announced as part of the 2024 WNBA All-Star team. Clark talked about teaming up with Reese in the postgame interviews following the Indiana Fever's loss against the Las Vegas Aces.

"I don't think I've ever been her teammate before, even with USA Basketball or anything like that. So, I know people are going to be really excited about it, but I hope it doesn't take away from everybody else. This is a huge accomplishment for everybody on Team USA and everybody on Team WNBA. They all deserved the same praise," Clark said.

The first pair of rookies to be named to the All-Star team since 2014 will be facing Team USA on Jul. 20 at Footprint Center.
