All the teams playing in the Maui Invitational Tournament feat. Dan Hurley’s UConn - Schedule, history and more

The 2024 Maui Invitational Tournament is about to go underway when the two-time defending NCAA champions UConn play against the Memphis Tigers to begin the schedule.

The tournament is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its inception, granting teams from high-level conferences to play against each other. The 2023 edition saw the Purdue Boilermakers win first place, beating the Marquette Golden Eagles by a score of 78-75.

Here are the teams participating in the Maui Invitational Tournament and the schedule that has been planned out from Nov. 25 to Nov. 27.

2024 Maui Invitational Tournament Teams

Eight teams are participating in this year's edition of the Maui Invitational Tournament.

Among the teams listed are UConn, Memphis, Colorado, Michigan State, Auburn, Iowa State, Dayton and North Carolina. None of the teams who played in the 2023 tournament (Tennessee, Syracuse, Purdue, Gonzaga, Kansas, Chaminade, UCLA, Marquette) are playing this year.

Of these eight teams, seven qualified for the 2024 NCAA Tournament with three of them reaching the Sweet Sixteen. UConn won the national championship.

UConn opens the tournament against Memphis at 2:30 p.m. ET, then Colorado and Michigan State come next with their matchup tipping off at 5 p.m. ET.

Auburn will follow suit with their encounter against Iowa State at 9 p.m. ET, then Dayton will conclude the first round with their game against North Carolina at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Maui International Tournament last five winners

Eight men's college basketball teams will collide in a single elimination tournament at Lahaina Civic Center near the beaches of Maui, Hawai'i between Nov. 25 to Nov. 27.

Here are the last five winners of the tournament:

• 2020: Texas def. North Carolina, 69–67
• 2021: Wisconsin def. Saint Mary’s, 61–55
• 2022: Arizona def. Creighton, 81–79
