Freshman Eris Lester is a four-star recruit from the 2024 class and the most exciting addition to Alabama Crimson Tide's women's basketball roster. Ranked 39th by ESPN, Lester brings her two-way dynamicity on the court. The versatile guard gave a glimpse of her arsenal during a team practice weeks after Alabama had shared its final roster for the 2024-25 season.

During a shootaround, sophomore guard Reychel Douglas initiated an alley-oop for Lester. With a brief run-up, Lester slammed the ball while jumping off the two, garnering cheers from her teammates.

Given the rarity of dunkers in women's college basketball, fans quickly reacted on the IG post to applaud Lester:

"And at 5'11" that's crazy! 🔥," a fan quickly pointed out the odds of Lester's dunk.
"I mean that just looked easy🐇," Lester's teammate Sarah Ashlee Barker wrote.
"I’m hoping that she does it in a game," a fan hyped the athletic guard.

Despite the support, some fans challenged the validity of the dunk by questioning the height of the basket:

"How low was that rim ?," a follower quipped.
"I would ask how high was the basketball goal but ATP who cares 🤷🏾‍♂️😅😂 great dunk," an enthusiast wrote.
"That goal looks 9 feet high," another fan questioned Lester's hops.

Eris Lester chose Alabama over 50 other programs

Eris Lester came to Alabama as the most athletic player of her class. Her athleticism, offensive acumen, defensive technique and a penchant to improve sit well with coach Kristy Curry’s plans.

However, there were plenty of other Divison I programs like Florida State, Florida, Kentucky Wildcats, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Mississippi and others eyeing to have Lester on their roster.

From having two-time All-Clay County First Team honors (2022 and 2023) to being the Wooten Camp’s standout and second unit by ESPNW, Eris Lester has plenty of awards and recognition.

She holds the promise to immediately impact winning, She averaged over 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals during her junior and sophomore high school years.

Moreover, she has also had national experience. Lester participated in Nike’s EYBL circuit and was quickly picked up by scouts for her talent.
