Angel Reese has been very popular lately, but also very controversial. The LSU Tigers forward led her team to the national championship on Sunday, earning the title of the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament.
However, the star player was upset with Jill Biden, the First Lady, for suggesting that the Iowa Hawkeyes should be invited to the White House as well. Historically, only winning teams have visited the US president's residence, which is why Reese was upset.
The basketball star even implied that she was not going to accept the invitation. However, it appears that Angel Reese is ready to bury the hatchet and will visit the White House with her teammates.
Angel Reese was hurt over Jill Biden's comments
The LSU Tigers have been one of the most exciting teams this year and they deserved to win the title. They faced the Iowa Hawkeyes in the final game of the tournament, beating Caitlin Clark, one of the best players in the world.
Reese, however, wasn't a big fan of Jill Biden even before the game started. It turns out that the Tigers did not want the First Lady to visit them in their locker room before the game. They didn't want this because Joe Biden, the US president, didn't pick the Tigers to win the tournament in his bracket.
"In the beginning, we were hurt," Reese said regarding the situation. "It was emotional because we know how hard we worked all year for everything."
The 6-foot-3 forward also confirmed that she and her team will visit the White House.
"You don't get that experience [to go to the White House] ever," the Tigers star said. "I know my team probably wants to go for sure, and my coaches are supportive of that, so I'm going to do what's best for the team and we've decided we're going to go."

Angel Reese also pointed out that she was the captain of the team, which is why it's her responsibility to do what's best for it.
Reese had a historically great run, averaging a double-double throughout the tournament and showing off her impressive skills. Thanks to her, the LSU Tigers won their first-ever national championship.
