When it comes to maximizing her opportunities, Angel Reese is doing everything she can. Most notably with one of the biggest changes in college athletics this year.
This season, the NCAA allowed players to sign NIL deals. With this change, players can now make money on their name, image and likeness. So far, numerous athletes have inked endorsement deals.
Sponsors United did a study on NIL deals, and Angel Reese finds herself in the top tier. The LSU star has the most deals (17) among any male or female college basketball player. As of now, Norfolk State track star Rayquan Smith has the most NIL deals in college athletics with 56.
The closest college basketball players to come close to Reese in terms of NIL deals are the Cavinder Twins, who play for Miami. They sit just behind her with 16 endorsement deals.
As far as her sponsors go, Reese has inked deals with companies in multiple fields, including JanSport, Bose, Sonic, McDonald's and Xfinity.
Since transferring to LSU, Reese has been one of the top players in women's college basketball. Leading up to the NCAA Tournament, she averaged 23.0 points and 15.4 rebounds in 36 games.
How much money does Angel Reese make from her NIL deals?
Angel Reese might have the most NIL deals in college basketball, but she does not find herself near the top earners. This year, she is set to make $392,000 from her sponsors.
Leading the charge in terms of top earners in women's college basketball are the Cavinder Twins. While they've been investigated for their NIL deals, each twin is on pace to make close to $900,000. Other top earners in the sport include UConn's Paige Bueckers ($754,000) and Reese's LSU teammate, Flau’jae Johnson ($669,000).
Following recent events, there is no telling what might happen in regards to Reese and her endorsement deals. She has received a lot of backlash on social media in regards to her actions in the championship game against Iowa.
After being seen taunting Caitlin Clark, Reese was criticized a great deal. Some defended her, while others brought up the racial undertones of the debate.
Seeing that she is fresh off winning an NCAA title with LSU, it wouldn't be shocking if her earnings went up in the future. The two-time All-American has solidified herself as one of the top players in the sport right now.
