Aneesah Morrow continues to impress in her senior season at LSU, powering the fifth-ranked Tigers to a hard-fought 83-77 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores on Monday. She helped the Tigers maintain their perfect record by recording her ninth consecutive double-double and 17th of the season, finishing with 23 points and 15 rebounds while playing every second of the game.
During the postgame news conference, Vanderbilt coach Shea Ralph gave Morrow her flowers, saying she knew the senior forward would become a problem whenever they faced LSU during conference play.
"I've been really blessed to coach some amazing players in my career," Ralph said (Timestamp: 3:32). "I do remember when she transferred to LSU from DePaul. I was like, 'Damn, we're gonna have to play against her.'
"There's no substitute for what that kid has inside her heart. What most people maybe don't know, but coaches know, you can't coach that, you can't coach what she does."
Ralph's comments on Morrow caught the attention of LSU fans, who flocked to social media to express their opinions on her.
Some of them acknowledged how her role often went under the radar due to the star power of Flau'jae Johnson and her former teammate Angel Reese.
One fan said: "She been the best player on that team for the last couple years in my opinion but Angel and Flau’jae just get all the attention."
Another said: "Please give (UConn coach) Geno (Auriemma) a call and tell him that!!!!!!!!"
"She’s the best on the team…period. Flaujae makes it look pretty but Neese is just the best and the beast," another added.
Others were simply in awe of Morrow's incredible senior season, believing Ralph was spot on with her thoughts.
"Well said. That was a great game," one fan said.
"She's not lying," another said.
Another added: "She been a beast!"
