Cooper Flagg is enjoying arguably one of the greatest freshman seasons in Duke's history. The top prospect in the Class of 2024 is living up to the hype, making a major impact at Durham in his maiden season of college basketball.

Flagg's immense talent was on full display in Duke's game against Pitt on January 7, touted to be one of the top teams in the ACC. One of his best moments in the game came in the second half, when he made a steal and ran the length of the court to make a stellar dunk, towering Pitt's center Guillermo Diaz Graham. Flagg's exhilarating dunk put the Blue Devils up 39-26 with 17:32 to go in the second half, with the game finishing 76-47 in their favor.

On January 10, Duke Athletics released the sixth episode of "Duke All-Access with Jon Scheyer." In the episode, the head coach revealed how Cooper Flagg's dunk reminded him of Zion Williamson.

"The dunk was incredible, and it was Zion-esque, that type of finish in traffic," said Scheyer (2:45)."But, I think the most impressive thing, if you go back and watch it, it's the three dribbles that he took from stealing the ball on the baseline on the other hand into the court to cover ground, and go by one of the fastest defenders in the ACC in (Jaland) Lowe, and then to finish over a seven-footer.
"To me, it's the way he covered ground."

Jon Scheyer reveals how Cooper Flagg's dunk reminded him of Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson

Scheyer further added how Cooper Flagg's dunk against Pitt brought back memories of incredible solo plays from Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson during their stints at Duke.

"I think about great runs we've had, or great dunks or singular plays," added Scheyer (3:51). "I think about Jayson Tatum's dunk against North Carolina at home, where he dunked going a second half, same basket, going down the middle of the lane with his right hand.
"I think of Zion, we were playing Clemson at home and he got a steal, and did a 360 on the break."

He added (4:44):

"Cooper is going to have his name in that same category."

Cooper Flagg finished with 42 points against Pitt, becoming the first Duke player since JJ Redick to post a 40-point game. His tally was also the highest by a freshman in Duke and ACC history.
