Ashlyn Watkins stats tonight: How many points did South Carolina tally vs. Purdue Boilermakers (Nov 30)

Ashlyn Watkins helped the No. 4 South Carolina Gamecocks coast to a 99-51 blowout victory over the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday. She scored 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting.

Entering the game at the 5:41 mark of the first quarter, her first offensive play featured an assist that brought the score to 14-10 in South Carolina's favor with over four minutes remaining.

She converted her opening basket at the 3:28 mark with a jumper and later grabbed three rebounds (two offensive) to end the first quarter.

Watkins had a better scoring impact in the second quarter. She scored six points in the six minutes she had throughout the period, making three of her four attempts while crashing the glass four times.

When halftime came around, South Carolina led 53-18. Ashlyn Watkins had eight points, seven rebounds, and an assist on 4-of-7 shooting from the field by that point.

The second half saw Watkins take a backseat. She only played in eight of the last 20 minutes, providing minimal contributions as the Gamecocks showed no signs of giving up their lead.

In the eight minutes she did play, she put up five points, two rebounds, two steals and one assist. Both steals occurred in the third quarter, the first happening at the midway point and the second taking place at the end of the period.

Her final scoring play came with 7:32 left. She converted her last shot attempt with a layup as the Gamecocks led 83-36 following the bucket, ultimately clinching another dominant win for South Carolina.

Ashlyn Watkins has a solid role off the bench this season for South Carolina

Ashlyn Watkins seems to have been a steady contributor off the bench this season for the Gamecocks.

Seven games in, Watkins is averaging 7.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and an assist per contest on 48.9% shooting from the field. Her inside presence has been beneficial to the Gamecocks, maintaining their aggression on the glass while getting quality shots inside the arc.
