Auburn coach Bruce Pearl's son Steven Pearl, an associate head coach for the Tigers on his father's staff, has announced his wife's pregnancy. He has been an assistant to his father throughout his 10-year tenure as coach of Auburn.

On Wednesday, Brittany Farrar, Steven's wife revealed that the couple is expecting a child via a series of heartwarming Instagram snaps. She captioned the post:

"Our little miracle ✨ baby girl Pearl joining us this December 💕🫶🏼 May you always know, daughter, that you were wished for, longed for, prayed for, and will be forever loved. We can’t wait to be your mom and dad! #ourbiggestblessing #babygirlpearl #homeforchristmas," she wrote.

How Bruce Pearl championed his daughter-in-law's pregnancy journey

A ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court on Feb. 16, 2024, said that frozen embryos are considered children, causing the Alabama Fertility Clinic to pause IVF treatments due to the legal risk attached to the process.

In February, before Auburn played Tennessee, the outspoken Bruce Pearl revealed his thoughts on the matter, connecting it to his son Steven and his daughter-in-law Brittany Farrar's quest to conceive.

“My son Steven and my daughter-in-law Brittany, courageously in many ways, have decided to make it known publicly that they’ve been involved with this in vitro fertilization for a couple of years, trying to have children, trying to start a family,” Bruce Pearl said.
“They are very, very close for Brittany to get pregnant. And it’s been a difficult process,” Pearl said. “But because of what’s gone on in the Alabama Supreme Court, in what may be in some ways a reckless decision by failing to understand that IVF process... it’s about people trying to start families and create life, not end it.”

On "The Next Round," Steven Pearl also spoke about the IVF process he and his wife were using to conceive and how the Supreme Court ruling was affecting their lengthy pregnancy journey.

“Brittany and I, for the past year, have been trying to get pregnant,” Steven Pearl said.
“It’s been a struggle to be completely honest with you and we’ve had to come up to Homewood a ton this past year at Alabama Fertility Clinic and work with Dr. Mann to try and get pregnant.”

The ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court, therefore, paused the process that Steven and his wife were undergoing, delaying their pregnancy journey. It seems to have all worked out for the couple, eventually, as Bruce Pearl is set to become a grandfather.
