Audi Crooks showed her pride in the Iowa State Cyclones getting good grades, flexing the team's healthy grade point average via her Instagram story on Friday. The sophomore center shared an image of the team in a huddle with their 3.66 GPA placed in the middle.
The image was first posted on the Iowa State women's basketball team's Instagram page. Crooks added a two-word reaction to the photo, celebrating the team's academic achievement this past semester.
"Smarty party," Crooks added.
Crooks has been a vital cog for the Cyclones this season, averaging 22.8 points and 8.1 rebounds. She has led Iowa State in scoring in each of its last 12 games, averaging 24.4 points during that span as the Cyclones went 7-5.
Crooks is ranked seventh in the nation in scoring average, trailing Florida State's Ta'Niya Latson, Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo, USC's JuJu Watkins, Arkansas' Izzy Higginbottom, Auburn's DeYona Gaston and Vanderbilt's Khamil Pierre.
Crooks has scored at least 20 points nine times this season, reaching that mark against St. Thomas-Minnesota, Northern Iowa, Drake, Middle Tennessee, Iowa, Eastern Illinois, UConn, Oklahoma State and Kansas.
Audi Crooks leads Iowa State past Kansas in Big 12 showdown
The Iowa State Cyclones finally snapped their two-game losing skid on Wednesday, beating the Kansas Jayhawks 78-64 in their Big 12 clash at Hilton Coliseum. Three starters scored in double figures for the Cyclones, who improved their overall record to 10-5.
Audi Crooks led the scoring for Iowa State, matching her season-high with 33 points. She shot 13-for-18 from the field and knocked down seven of her 13 attempts from the free-throw line. It was the fourth time this season that Crooks has shot above 70% in a game.
Crooks came close to recording her seventh double-double of the season, collecting seven boards against Kansas. She also had two blocks and one assist in 31 minutes of action.
Emily Ryan was also efficient on the offensive end, scoring 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting. She led the team in assists, dishing out six dimes against the Jayhawks. Addy Brown scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to post a double-double on New Year's Day.
