Iowa State Cyclones center Audi Crooks entered the elite 1000-point club to join Hannah Hidalgo and JuJu Watkins as the only active sophomores to hit the mark. The milestone came off a free throw early in the fourth quarter against Utah Utes during a 75-67 loss on Sunday. It was her 23rd point of the game and the 1,000th of her career.
Crooks also made program history, becoming the 35th Iowa State player to score 1,000 points and the fastest player to reach the milestone. The sophomore posted 29 points and eight rebounds in the contest, exiting with 1,006 total career points.
Out of the three active sophomores, Audi Crooks is the slowest to enter the 1,000-point club, doing so in 48 career games. Hannah Hidalgo achieved the feat in 44 career games last month, making her the fastest in Notre Dame's history. JuJu Watkins sparked the club in November 2024. She reached the milestone in 38 games, becoming the fourth-quickest player in NCAA history to reach 1,000.
With the loss against Utah, Iowa State is now 10-6 on their season. The Cyclones expect to bounce back off Crooks' momentum as they will hit the road to face Arizona State on Wednesday and the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday.
Audi Crooks earns second Big 12 Player of the Week honor
Behind her milestone game and behind her monster game against the Kansas Jayhawks to open the new year, the 6-foot-3 center was named the Big 12 conference's Player of the Week. This is her second honor of the season and fourth of her career.
Audi Crooks posted 33 points (72.2% shooting) and seven rebounds against the Jayhawks, averaging over 30 points and 7.5 rebounds on more than 60% shooting in the previous week.
Her first conference PoY came before Iowa State's contest against the UConn Huskies on Dec. 17. Crooks posted 31 points against the Iowa Hawkeyes and 30 against Eastern Illinois to average 30.5 points and seven rebounds on nearly 70% shooting that week.
Audi Crooks earned the weekly Freshman of the Year honors three times last season.
She is currently leading Iowa State in points (23.2), rebounds (8.1) and blocks (0.8) while leading the nation in converted field goals (153).
