Caitlin Clark has been getting her recognition as the best female athlete of 2024. This, of course, prompted a reaction from her boyfriend Connor McCaffery's brother Patrick McCaffery.
On Tuesday, the Associated Press named Clark as its Female Athlete of the Year. The young star made a huge impact on the WNBA in her rookie season with the Indiana Fever, being responsible for 26.5% of activity throughout the entire league, bringing $36 million in revenue to Indianapolis and having one of every six WNGA tickets sold attributed to her.
"And don’t even get me started on Caitlin Clark’s game 🏀 Drop a 💛 for the 2024 AP Female Athlete of the Year," the brand togethxr posted.
Patrick McCaffrey reacted to the news on Instagram, only needing one emoticon to express himself.
"😭," McCaffrey posted.

Caitlin Clark gave her thoughts on the news as well, having already garnered national recognition with Time Magazine naming her their Athlete of the Year due to the impact she had on the sports world.
"I grew up a fan of Candace Parker and the people who came before me and to be honored in this way is super special, and I'm thankful. It was a great year for women's basketball and women's sports," Clark told the AP.
In 2024, Clark ended her collegiate career as the NCAA's all-time leading scorer while leading the Iowa Hawkeyes to the national championship game for the second straight season.
Despite the loss to South Carolina in the final, Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley made sure to credit Clark for her efforts.
"I want to personally thank Caitlin Clark for lifting up our sport," Staley said during the team's celebration of their title.
After being selected first in the 2024 WNBA draft, her start with the Indiana Fever was shaky before bouncing back in resounding fashion. She led the team to the playoffs en route to winning WNBA Rookie of the Year, a testament to her talent as one of the game's best young stars.
